The Rev. Michael L. Reed, B.A., M.Div., Pastor

WEEKLY BIBLE CLASS – Pastor Reed is offering a Bible class on Sunday mornings at 8:30 a.m. beginning January 17. Please join us!

PALMS – from Palm Sunday 2015 should be brought back to the church to be burned at Mardi Gras in preparation for Ash Wednesday.  Please place your palms in the box on the table in the back of the sanctuary.  Thank You.

ASH WEDNESDAY – will be observed on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 with a 7:00pm Mass with the imposition of ashes.  This is the most solemn day of the Christian Year. This is the only day of the Christian year where the appointed  color of the day is Black.  It is similar to the Jewish Day of Atonement.  Ashes are a symbol of death and sadness.  On this day we come face to face with our human mortality with the words spoken at the imposition of the ashes:  “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”  It is a reminder to us, that without God, we are nothing more than dust.
HOLY ANGELS’ LENTEN KITCHEN  – will be open the first three Fridays of Lent ONLY,  from 11am to 7:00pm beginning Friday, February 12, 2016.  The menu will include:  baked “crispy” cod, baked lemon pepper cod, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, potato and cheese pierogies, haluski, crab cakes, and potato soup.  All food is homemade, from scratch.  You may eat in or take out.  Limited delivery to local businesses is also available with 1 hour advance notice.  Please consider setting time aside on these Lenten Fridays to help with this project of the Church.  Baked goods to sell at the bake sale will also be needed.  NOTE:  The Lenten Kitchen will only be open:  Friday, February 12, 19, and 26, 2016.

HOLY ANGELS PARISH FOOD PANTRY – Distributes food to those in need on the THIRD Saturday of each month from 9:00 – 11:00 AM. The next distribution will be on Saturday, February 20, 2016.

HOAGIE SALE – will be on Thursday, March 3, 2016.  Orders must be received in the church office by 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 1.  Orders cannot be promised after this deadline! Order forms are available in the rear of the church.
